A New Year, A New You

At least, that’s the thinking behind the most popular New Year’s resolutions. “Staying fit and healthy” and “losing weight” are always among our top goals each January.

They’re also the pledges we most often break, as we deal with the ebbs and flows—and highs and lows—of our busy lives.

Here are some Tips to help you deflate the spare tire you have built up over the holidays.

#1: Think Kitchen

You’ve heard that abs are made in the kitchen? It’s true.

Focusing on your nutrition will yield results quicker than anything else you do.

Make your target lean protein, fresh fruits and vegetables, and minimal grains. You will be amazed at how quickly your body responds to healthy food and how fast you will start to feel better. More energy, better rest and you will see results very quickly.

#2: Write Down 3 Changes You Will Make

It's great to say it but in order to make progress you NEED a plan.

What are the 3 things you are willing to change / do to meet your weight loss goals. For example, no alcohol AT ALL for 30 days. This one will show the affects on your body probably in the most profound way, decreased belly fat and overall, you will Feel Better.

What are you willing to ACTUALLY DO?

(Need help or guidance with this one . . . let me know and I can offer some other suggestions.)

#3: Small Goals

Instead of writing down that you intend to lose 50 lbs this year, start with small achievable goals. I am going to lose 1 or 2 lbs per week in January. Track it each week.

Then February re-evaluate where you are in reaching your goal and set yourself some new small goals. This will keep you focused and before you know it . . . the lbs will be gone!

#4: Scheduling

Add your workouts to your calendar with a reminder. Treat them like a meeting with your boss . . . sorry, gotta go . . . I have a very important meeting I have to get to. THEN ACTUALLY GO!

#5: Accountability

Recruit a buddy, hire a Trainer or Coach, ask your spouse to help you, use one of the apps to log progress, calories, join a fitness community.

You just need a little accountability to keep you on the right track. A Fitness Community is a great way to stay focused and accountable. Everyone is going in the same direction so why not tag along on their band wagon.

We are happy to help you keep and meet those Resolutions for 2018!!
